Editorial description
Open Music Player is built for people who keep their own audio collection. It imports individual files and user-selected folders instead of scanning the entire device. Library tools include playlists, smart collections and a queue, alongside an equalizer, sleep timer, background playback and Lock Screen controls.
Version 1.2.3 centres the player on a spinning vinyl record: the record turns while music plays, and shuffle, repeat, the sleep timer and the equalizer sit beside it instead of inside menus. Two app-wide appearances — Light vinyl and Graphite & lime — restyle the library, player and settings, and the switch lives in Settings. Music can be transferred by copying a folder to the app with Finder on a Mac or the Files app on iPhone and iPad, then connecting that folder under Settings > Add folder; the app ships no music catalog of its own.
Core local playback works without an internet connection. Optional song identification can recognize nearby music through the microphone or analyze a selected audio file and requires internet access. The app does not include a music catalog; users supply their own DRM-free audio files.
