Support for your music.

Quick answers for adding files, managing your library, playback and song identification. Open Music Player 1.2.0 supports iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.

Add music

Open Settings, then choose Add Files or Add Folder. Open Music Player indexes only the files and folders you explicitly select; it does not scan the whole device.

When the contents of a connected folder change, use its refresh action. Disconnecting a folder removes its entries from the app without deleting the original audio.

Clear the library safely

In Settings, select Clear Library and confirm. This clears the app’s catalog, related cached artwork and local track references. Your source audio files remain where you stored them.

Playback troubleshooting

  • Confirm that the source file is still available through Files and that access to its folder has not been revoked.
  • Try the track with ReplayGain, gapless playback and crossfade turned off. These options require compatible local files.
  • For background playback, start a track before locking the device. Title, artist, artwork, progress and controls should appear on the Lock Screen.
  • The queue wraps from the last track back to the first. Check repeat and shuffle if the order is unexpected.

Song identification

Identification requires an internet connection. For nearby music, verify microphone permission in system settings; the microphone starts only after you tap the identification button. You can also choose Identify Audio File and select a file through the system picker.

A “no match” result does not necessarily indicate an app error. Try a clear section of the track with less background noise.

Report a problem

Open Settings → Report a Problem. Select a category, describe what you did, what you expected and what happened. A reply email is optional.

The form sends the message you enter together with limited app and device information. It does not automatically attach music, library contents, microphone recordings or log files. If there is no connection, the report can remain in the private on-device queue for up to seven days.

Please do not include passwords, payment details, private audio or information that is not needed to understand the issue.

Optional diagnostics

Automatic diagnostics are disabled by default and require a separate opt-in in Settings. Turning them off stops new automatic reports and removes pending automatic reports from the device. Reports exclude audio, song names, file paths and library contents. Full details are in the privacy policy.
