September 15, 2026 · Major update

More ways to make the library yours.

Version 1.2.0 expands organization, playback and portability while keeping local music and user choice at the center.

Nine interface languages

The interface now supports English, Russian, Bulgarian, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. Open Music Player follows a supported device language automatically, with a manual language choice in Settings.

Playlists and smart collections

Create regular playlists or let on-device listening history, genres and selected folders shape smart collections. Listening counters stay on the device and can be cleared.

More control over playback

Tag-based ReplayGain, gapless playback and crossfade are available for compatible local files. These features remain optional, and files without the required metadata or playback path continue to work without forced processing.

Lyrics, bookmarks and long recordings

Read embedded lyrics or import a UTF-8 LRC file, add bookmarks and optionally resume recordings of at least ten minutes from the last saved position.

Move the collection, not the audio

Export and import playlists, favorites, bookmarks and settings between Android and iPhone. Audio is transferred separately. Import previews exact matches, skips ambiguous ones and merges into the existing collection instead of replacing it.

Private feedback by choice

The new in-app form can send a message and optional reply email with limited device details. Automatic diagnostics remain off by default, require explicit consent and exclude music, microphone recordings, song names, file paths and library contents.

See the privacy policy for exact data and retention details.

Before 1.2: the 1.1.1 stability update

Released on September 11, version 1.1.1 fixed playback of some local MP3 files, Russian song-title display and Lock Screen title, artist, artwork and progress information. It also restored wraparound from the final song to the first and improved queue and background-playback stability.
